The Samsung Lions have released 11 players.

Samsung announced on the 25th that it has removed 11 players from the roster, including Noh Gun-woo (renamed Noh Sung-ho), who was known as a “150-kilometer lefty”.

The decision was made in consideration of both the composition of the roster and future development. Pitchers Noh Gun-woo, Park Se-woong, Jang Ji-hoon, Kim Yong-ha, Kim Jun-woo, Meng Sung-joo, and Park Yong-min, infielders Kim Ho-jae, Lee Tae-hoon, and Yoon Jung-hoon, and outfielder Song Jun-seok were released.

Noh Sung-ho, a veteran left-hander from Hwasun High School, was drafted by the NC Dinos with the first overall pick in 2012. At the time of his draft, he was a left-handed orthodox pitcher with a 150-kilometer fastball. He is in his fourth year with Samsung, having joined the organization in 2020 through the second round of the draft. In 175 career KBO games, he has a 7-2 record with 15 saves and a 6.44 ERA. Jang Ji-hoon, a native of Gyeongju, joined Samsung in the first round of the 2017 draft. He was expected to be one of Samsung’s top pitching prospects, but after 47 games, 45⅓ innings, and one loss with an 8.14 ERA, he was released.

Infielder Kim Ho-jae made his debut in 2018 and played in 286 games over six seasons, batting .245 with 92 hits, one home run, 27 RBIs, and a .610 OPS.
