An exciting new era of sports betting and poker games opened this week as two Louisiana-based casinos opened up colorful spaces. Parts of Caesars Entertainment, New Orleans Casino and Hosche Casino & Hotel in Hara – Bossier City made history by opening state-of-the-art Caesars sportsbook stores at the resort, respectively.
In addition, Harrah’s introduced the largest poker room in Louisiana with the grand opening of the new World Series of Poker Room.

To celebrate this opening ceremony, Caesars held two ceremonies this week inside Hara and Horshu featuring ribbon cutting and first bets.
In New Orleans, Archie and Cooper Manning joined professional football hall of fame and former New Orleans St. Ricky Jackson, local dignitaries, and Saints superfan Leroy Mitchell Jr., better known as the “Whistle Monsta,” to open a new sportsbook and poker room. Jackson placed a $1,000 bet on the Saints and the first bet on all possible wins that benefit the United Nigro College Fund (UNCF) to win the Super Bowl with a 40-1 chance. In Bossier City, Caesars Sportsbook opened in a spectacular way that Mayor Tommy Chandler cut a ribbon ahead of a huge $200,000 first bet placed by a VIP and famous guest.
Harrah’s New Orleans currently boasts a 5,700-square-foot sportsbook with state-of-the-art high-power audio system adjacent to the 5,000-square-foot World Series of Poker Room with four betting windows, 12 self-service betting kiosks, 147-foot video screens and 20 poker tables. The opening represents another phase of Harrah’s New Orleans’ ongoing $325 million transition to Caesars New Orleans, which is expected to be completed by 2024.
The new Caesars Sportsbook in Hosche Bozier City is strengthening its status as a top entertainment destination in Northwest Louisiana. Spaces over 6,900 square feet include over 94 TVs, VIP viewing sections and large bars with three betting windows, 15 self-service betting kiosks, and state-of-the-art high-power audio systems.
