Honda will take the position of Mercedes as its engine provider starting in 2026, according to Aston Martin. He will become Honda’s official works partner as the Japanese manufacturer fully commits to Formula 1 as its long-term future.

As Aston Martin’s official power unit supplier, Honda will make a full-scale return to Formula 1 in 2026. After a seven-year run in the sport that saw Max Verstappen of Red Bull winning the drivers’ World Championship, Honda quit Formula One at the conclusion of 2021.

The use of 100% sustainable fuel provided by AMF1 Team key partner Aramco and the deployment of electrical power will both significantly rise as a result of the new requirements.

“I would like to welcome Honda and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) to the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® Team. We share a mutual drive, determination, and relentless ambition to succeed on track.” Lawrence Stroll said, Executive Chairman, AMF1 Team.

In a time when many rules are expected to change, Aston Martin and Honda have decided to collaborate. The turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 will operate on entirely synthetic fuel, while the F1 cars will consume three times as much electrical power as they do currently. Still anticipated to have over 1,000 horsepower and possibly even noisier are the hybrid powertrains.

“This is an extremely exciting and important further step for the team,” said Aston Martin Group CEO Martin Whitmarsh.

“It’s clear that both organizations share the same mutual drive, determination and relentless ambition to succeed on the track. We’ve seen Honda over many years achieve great success. We’re still building, but I think we’re very proud, very honored, and very grateful to put in place this partnership.

The surprise team in F1 2023 thus far has been Aston Martin, with Fernando Alonso earning four podium finishes and moving up from seventh to second in the constructors’ championship, ahead of Mercedes, who are currently the engine providers.

“The new 2026 F1 power unit regulations are a huge and important change but one which we are confident we can navigate successfully together. “Our future 바카라 works partnership with Honda is one of the last parts of the jigsaw puzzle slotting into place for Aston Martin’s ambitious plans in Formula One.” Aston Martin Performance Technologies chief executive Martin Whitmarsh added.

With Honda leading the standings this year and having won two world championships with Red Bull in 2021 and 2022, it is certain that the alliance with Aston Martin will result in further titles.

Honda Racing Corporation president Koji Watanabe said: “They are currently working on various measures to strengthen the team and strive to win the F1 championship title.”

“In the midst of major changes in our business and the motorsports environment leading toward the transition to a carbon neutral society, we have re-established HRC as an optimal platform to sustain 스포츠토토 and further evolve motorsport activities as a Honda strength. “We will establish sustainable operational structures for our racing activities and continue to deliver more dreams and excitement for motorsports fans all around the world.”

The Formula One CEO and President, Stefano Domenicali, stated: “We can all see the incredible commitment Aston Martin has made to our sport and we can’t wait to see the exciting partnership in action, and I want to congratulate both parties on this exciting news.”
