The K League Two Chungnam Asan FC has completed the organization of its coaching staff to lead the team alongside new head coach Kim Hyun-seok.

The club announced in a press release on the 1st that it has appointed Head Coach Bae Sung-jae, Field Coach Kim Jong-young, Goalkeeper Coach Lee Jung-rae, and Playing Coach Kim Jong-kook to the coaching staff that will lead the 2024 season alongside Head Coach Kim Hyun-seok.

Bae played for the Daejeon Citizen (now the Daejeon Hana Citizen) during his playing days. Since retiring from active duty, he has gained a wealth of coaching experience as the head coach of Shinhan High School, head coach of Thailand’s Thanyaburi United, head coach of Bangkok FC, head coach of Hanmyeong High School, and head coach of Goyang KH FC. In particular, he served as the first head coach of Goyang KH FC, winning the league title and promotion to the K3 League in its first year of existence.

After serving as the coach of Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding, Kim Jong-young served as the head coach of the Ansan Greeners from 2017 to 2019, leading the team through its heyday. In the 2020-2021 season, he served as the head coach of Gyeongnam FC. He is a K League coach with a wealth of experience in thoroughly analyzing opponents and creating customized tactics accordingly, and is expected to have a unique synergy with head coach Kim Hyun-seok.

Goalkeeping coach Lee Jung-rae made his debut with the Jeonnam Dragons in 2002 and went on to play professionally for Gyeongnam FC, Gwangju FC, and Chungju Hummel. After his retirement, 안전놀이터 he took his first step into coaching in 2014 as the coach of Chungju Hummel. He then worked as a scout for Daejeon Citizen (now Daejeon Hana Citizen) in 2018 before taking over as coach of Chengdu Rongcheong under Seo Won-jeong in 2021.

Finally, Chungnam Asan appointed veteran midfielder Kim Jong-kook as a player-coach. Now in his 13th year as a professional, Kim has a wealth of experience in the K League, having played for Ulsan Hyundai, Gangwon FC, Daejeon Citizen (now Daejeon Hana Citizen), Suwon FC, Asan Mugunghwa, and Chungnam Asan. He last wore a Chungnam Asan jersey in 2020 and has been an inspiration to players on and off the field. He is expected to help head coach Kim Hyun-seok identify existing players and act as a bridge between the coaching staff and players.

Meanwhile, Chungnam Asan will leave for its first winter training camp on March 3. The team will be traveling to Jeju Island before heading to Suncheon in February to prepare for the upcoming season.
