MILAN — Ex-Chelsea teammate Fikayo Tomori wants to join and is looking forward to his AC Milan debut in San Siro, inspired by Kaka, who is ready to bring a box-to-box play to Italy.
The English midfielder recently signed a four-year contract with Milan following a move from Chelsea, reportedly worth 16 million euros ($17.5 million).
“I’ve been at Chelsea for 20 years of my life. “This is a special time to finally leave the club and start a new chapter in my life,” Loftus-Cheek said in a video posted on the Milan website on Tuesday.
Raised through Chelsea’s youth system, Loftus-Cheek has scored 13 goals in 155 appearances in seven seasons for the Blues. He has won two Premier League titles at Chelsea, the Club World Cup, the European Super Cup, and the League Cup. He also lived on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham. 안전놀이터
He played with Tomori at an academy in Chelsea.
Loftus Cheek said, “I’ve talked a lot with him over the past month, even months. He was asking if I was coming, especially when it was known to the media.” “He said, “If you come, you’ll feel the size of the club, the history of the club, and what it means to play for AC Milan.” And I always wanted to come.”
At 6ft 3in (1.91m), Loftus Cheek combines physical presence with a mix of different techniques.
“I’m familiar with many jobs in my career. If the formation is different, I have to play a different position, and I was comfortable about it,” he said. “But my best thing to do to make the biggest impact on the game is to be in a box-to-box position where I can get up in midfield, score goals, defend again and bring in strength. And that’s what I really want to do in this league.”
Loftus-Cheek fills Milan’s midfield hole created when Sandro Tonali left for Newcastle. He will wear Tonali’s No. 8 shirt with Rossoneri. His closest experience in Serie A came when he played for Chelsea under Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
The 27-year-old grew up in Milan admiring Kaka.
“He was an incredible runner with the ball and that was one of my strengths in the game – I can run with the ball open and Kaka was one of the best,” Loftus Cheek said.
