NC Son Ah-seop
NC Dinos outfielder Son Ah-seop (36) is one step closer to setting the KBO League record for the most hits in his career.
Son Ah-seop started as the second batter and left fielder in the 2024 professional baseball visiting game against the Doosan Bears held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 18th, and recorded 1 hit and 1 run in 5 at-bats, including a double that passed the center fielder’s height in the top of the first inning.
Son Ah-seop, who hit 2,502 hits until this day, is two inches closer to commentator Park Yong-taek’s record for the most hits of all time (2,504).
Son Ah-seop will now tie the record by hitting two hits, and if he adds three hits, he will overtake Commissioner Park and write a new history in the KBO League.
Son Ah-seop, who joined the Lotte Giants in 2007, wrote the first page of history by hitting his first hit in a visiting game against the Hyundai Unicorns held at Suwon Stadium (currently Suwon KT Wiz Park) in Gyeonggi-do on April 7 of that year.
Son Ah-seop, who was a bench member until 2009, caught the attention of manager Jerry Royster in 2010 and took over the starting position. He recorded a batting average of .300 for 9 consecutive seasons and made a name for himself as a representative substitute hitter in the KBO League.
Son Ah-seop, who was loved by Busan fans for his extraordinary passion and fierce spirit, continued his consistent performance even after wearing the NC uniform as a free agent in 2022.
Last season, he showed off his health by recording 187 hits in 551 at-bats and a batting average of 0.339 in 140 games, ranking first in most hits and batting average. 성인웹툰
