Gyeongnam Province held the inaugural meeting of the Organizing Committee for the National Games and the National Paralympic Games, which will be held in Gyeongnam next year, at the Gimhae Indoor Gymnasium on the 15th.The Organizing Committee is the highest body that advises and supports major policies necessary for the preparation and operation of the National Games and the National Paralympic Games.153 representatives from all walks of life, including mayors, county governors, and lawmakers, mainly from the sports world, will participate.Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-soo will chair the organizing committee.Kim Oh-young, president of the Gyeongnam Sports Federation, Choi Man-rim, governor of the Gyeongnam Provincial Administration, Park Sung-soo, deputy superintendent of the Gyeongnam Office of Education, Choi Hak-beom and Kang Yong-beom, vice chairmen of the Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly, and Kang Oe-sook, vice president of the Gyeongnam Disabled Sports Federation, will serve as vice chairmen.Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-bu will serve as an advisor, and Gimhae Mayor Hong Tae-yong will serve as a member.Along with the inaugural meeting of the organizing committee, Gyeongnam installed a countdown indicator for the “D-300 days” of the National Games at Gyeongnam Provincial Office Plaza.
Gyeongnam will host the 105th National Games (Oct. 11-17) and the 44th National Paralympic Games (Oct. 25-30) next year.The competitions will be held around Gyeongnam, centered on Gimhae City.Gyeongnam Province and Gimhae City are renovating 23 venues to meet the competition standards, including the Gimhae Sports Complex, which will be used for the opening and closing ceremonies and track and field events, with the goal of completing it in the first half of next year.The new Gimhae Sports Complex, which ranges from five floors underground to three floors above ground, will have 15,666 spectator seats.After the inaugural meeting, Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-soo held a sports development meeting at the Gimhae SME Business Center with more than 70 presidents of city and county sports associations and sports organizations, focusing on the success of the national championships, fostering 스포츠토토존 elite athletes, and revitalizing daily sports.
