After 31 draws without a single ticket matching the six winning numbers, officials at the Mega Millions consortium said tickets sold in Florida topped the Aug. 8 race.

Gretchen Corbyn, chairman of the Georgia Lottery and director of the Mega Millions Consortium, congratulates Florida Lottery for selling lottery tickets that won the $1.58 billion lottery on Tuesday. “We congratulate not only our latest winners but also more than 43.7 million winners at all prize levels while this jackpot is running,” he said

Last night’s winning numbers were 13, 19, 20, 32, 33, and the gold medal was Mega Ball 14.

a historic victory
Mega Millions’ announcement says the consortium is counting the final numbers for Tuesday night’s draw, but the jackpot is likely to set a new record if the pool is officially decided. Mega Millions’ previous wealthiest jackpot was a $1.537 billion prize for a single ticket sold in South Carolina in October 2018.

On August 8, the Mega Millions jackpot is ranked with the third largest prize money in U.S. history. The Powerball has a $2.04 billion jackpot won by a player in California last November and a $1.586 billion jackpot by three tickets sold in California, Florida and Tennessee in January 2016.

Megamillion’s agents are calculating the final winnings based on their 30-year annuity payments. If the winner chooses all the value of the advertised jackpot, the pension will be based on a U.S. Treasury-backed bond portfolio. The value of Mega Millions and Powerball’s annealed jackpot is rising faster than it was when federal interest rates were near zero as interest rates to ease inflation continue to rise. 슬롯머신

Tickets won Tuesday night went on sale at the Publix grocery store at 630 Atlantic Boulevard in Neptune Beach, about 15 miles east of Jacksonville. Winners will have to choose between $1.58 billion in pension payments over 30 years and approximately $783.3 million.

Both awards are federal 37% tax transfers levied on top earners in the United States.

Florida is one of eight states that does not regard lottery wins as personal income. Therefore, the Sunshine State lottery jackpot is not subject to a state tax.

Not only did Tuesday night’s winner overcome a 325.5 million chance of winning, but they were also lucky to buy a life-changing ticket in Florida, where such a win is tax-free. If the ticket had been purchased in neighboring Georgia, the state’s 5.75% state tax would have reduced cash options by $45 million.

Other winners
On August 8, the Mega Millions draw drew more than 7 million ticket winners, most of whom won the game’s smallest prize of $2 dollars.

In addition to the prize money, seven other tickets matched five white balls for the game’s second tier prize of $1 million, but not the gold megaball. Two of these tickets sold in Florida and North Carolina purchased a $1 extra megaplier that doubled its winnings after the megaplier landed on the 2x.

Another 166 tickets matched four white balls and $10,000 in prize money for the three-tier Mega Bowl. Chapter 28 doubles MegaFlyer to $20,000.
