Former San Antonio Spurs guard Bryn Forbes was arrested Wednesday morning in San Antonio on charges of domestic violence, according to KSAT reports.
Forbes was arrested Wednesday morning at about 5:15 a.m. at La Cantera Resort & Spa on the northwest side of the city. According to the report, the police said that Forbes attacked a person with whom he is in a relationship.
“A preliminary police report states that Forbes was out with the woman when he was upset,” KSAT said. “When the police said, the couple went home and when they arrived, they engaged in a conflict, which then became physical.”
This woman is said to have been “injured several times… and (she) needs medical attention.”
Forbes, 29, is now a free agent. He most recently played for the Minnesota Timberwolves but only appeared in 25 games this season before being released.
The former Michigan star signed with the Spurs in 2016 and spent his first four seasons in the NBA with San Antonio. He started consistently in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons and scored 11.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in a game during the 2018-19 campaign. Forbes then played for the Milwaukee Bucks during their title run in 2021. He briefly returned to San Antonio in the following season but was traded to the Denver Nuggets in the middle of the year.
In total, Forbes averaged 8.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 431 games of his career.
