Bae Ji-hwan hit his first two-hit game in five games, leading the Giants to a win over Atlanta.

South Korean slugger Bae Ji-hwan, 24, who plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates, had a multi-hit performance (two or more hits in a game) to help his team win.

Bae started in the ninth spot in the lineup and went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, an RBI and a run scored against the visiting Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB) Baseball’s 2023 World Series at Truiste Park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, on Tuesday.

It was Bae’s first two-hit game in five games since going 2-for-4 against the St. Louis Cardinals three days ago.

Bae, who led off the third inning with a walk, drove a two-pitch fastball from Atlanta left-hander Dylan Dodd into the left-field seats.

He then came home on a double by Keebrian Hayes, scoring his 45th run of the season.

Bae made a bold run from first base to home plate, even taking his helmet off when Hayes hit a line drive to left field.

Bae’s bold play allowed Hayes to advance to second base.

Brian Reynolds followed with a two-run homer, giving Pittsburgh three runs in the third inning.

Bae tried to bunt with one out in the fourth, but was thrown out at the plate, and after stealing second on a Reynolds single two batters later, Bae returned to the dugout without scoring on a wild pitch.

With his team leading 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Bae walked and stole second base, then lifted a low slider from Michael Tonkin and dropped it in front of center field for an RBI single. It was his 26th RBI of the season.

In the top of the seventh, he hit a bases-loaded single to end the at-bat.
