“My team members and I are all very confident about our passion!”

Park So-young, the cheerleader of Goyang Sono during the 2024-2025 season, emphasized her passion. “It’s my first time as a team leader, so I’m excited,” Park said. “We’re still in the process of creating our cheering colors. I have high expectations as my team and I work together to create the colors. That’s how much responsibility we have gained.”

He said, “We will do our best to hold various events and have fun cheering for you. Please come to Goyang Sono Arena a lot.” He cited his meeting with his fans.

First, let’s talk about the beginning of cheerleading.
I met my current company’s national team through an acquaintance’s introduction in 2020. I was a 21-year-old college student at the time, but I passed the audition right away.

I guess I had a talent for dancing, too.
I’ve been in a dance club since I was in middle school. It was more of a favorite than a great dancer.

Did you originally know about the job of cheerleading?
My family and I were not familiar with cheerleading. I knew it, but I didn’t know exactly what it was about. Sports were just a national team game. After I passed the audition, the CEO taught me about the job of cheerleading. I learned a lot then.

When I started cheerleading, it was in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
That’s right. Personally, I was able to understand cheerleaders. I don’t feel bad about it because I have time to grow up by showing myself little by little.

How did your family react when you became a cheerleader?
In my early 20s, I thought it was good for my family and I to gain experience. So I was able to challenge myself without hesitation. The more I got along, and I had fun working, so please support me a lot now.

Do you have brothers?
I have an older sister who is 5 years old. (My family would be proud.) She seemed to brag about her, her mom, her grandparents, and even her grandparents in secret. Not openly (laughs).

I’ve been a cheerleader for five years now.
I think I keep doing it because I love cheerleading. The stadium is a place where sports lovers gather. It’s very attractive that I lead the audience and the fans follow along. It’s a sense of pride that I gave the audience a memory. It’s hard to express how overwhelming emotions and resonances can be expressed. I think that’s why I can’t get out of it until now.

Are there any fans who are memorable while working as cheerleaders?
It hasn’t been long since I started cheerleading, and it was a time when there were no fans. I was cheering on the court, and I saw a placard with a heart next to my name. When I first found it, I thought, “Is that really my name?” It was very touching.

I think there will be a gift that impressed you.
Thank you all for taking care of me all the time, but the sneakers were the most memorable. My sisters were tall, but I didn’t notice (that I was relatively short) on the coat. But my plain clothes were different. When I saw them, a fan gave me sneakers that were as tall as cheerleading shoes. I told you not to be daunted (laughs). It was the first time I knew they had other sneakers besides cheerleading shoes. Thank you for your careful consideration.

How do you communicate with your fans?
It’s not easy during the game, and I tend to do it a lot on my way to and from work. These days, I often do it on social media, and it’s hard to search my ID and send me a message. I don’t want to ignore it, so I try to answer everything on my day off. On the day after the game, I look at the tagged list and click Like. I really appreciate that you give me time and care.

What are the characteristics of basketball compared to other sports?
Basketball shifts are fast, so it’s more thrilling than other sports. Players’ running around the court, ball sounds, and fans’ shouts come to one place. I think that makes your heart race. If you’re a beginner in sports, basketball would be good. And basketball cheerleading requires almost twice as many people as other sports. Another advantage is that there are various performances that you can show. Not only that you are not restricted by the weather.

I’m sure there’s something you’re looking forward to as Sono’s cheerleader for the next season, right?
From 2024-2025 season, I will head the cheerleading team at Sono. I’m excited because it’s my first time as a team leader. Other teams’ cheering colors seem to have been firmly established, so we’ve been cheering according to the atmosphere that was set. However, we’re still in the process of creating the cheering colors. I have high expectations for the team and I to work together to make the colors. That’s how much responsibility I have become.

I heard that Sono is giving support to the basketball team.
That’s right. From the start of the game to the moment we go home, we’re preparing a lot to entertain our fans in various ways. The cheerleading team is planning to perform with the image that comes to mind when we hear “Sono.” And we’re going to greet each of them brightly at the opening ceremony and say something more about the small talk. I think that bonding will help you cheer up. I try to put a lot of effort into that.메이저놀이터

I’m also curious about your goal as a cheerleading team leader.
When I first started, I didn’t even know anything about it. As time passed, I started thinking more and more about cheerleaders. I want to help them stay connected to the profession of cheerleaders. I’m not just trying to be a lightweight profession, but I’m trying to build a solid team that can express their sincerity in each piece of support.

I’m looking forward to your performance as a team leader. Here’s the last question. To me, cheerleader is 000.
It’s “Turning Point.”
